4) Notes

(*1) Prior to 2012, single number believed to include both annual and life members. From 2016/7, broken down as annual (adult) + annual (junior) + life (paid up + honorary).

(*2) The James Walker Memorial Trophy, the branch's own player of the season award is awarded annually to the player voted City player of the season by the branch members. It is awarded in memory of James Walker, a branch founder member.

(*3) The Jim Fray Memorial Trophy is awarded to a branch member who has made a significant contribution to the well being of the branch. It is awarded in memory of Jim Fray, a founder member and life member of the London branch as well as being a mainstay of the main branch in York.

(*4) Andy won the annual quiz (May) and both extra quizzes (Arthur Bottom 80th birthday and Xmas).

(*5) 2008/9 - Award cancelled when the Wembley authorities revoked permission for us to present the award before the FA Trophy Final.

(*6) Held in August 2012.

(*7) First online voting. Dead heat. Lanre Oyebanjo was 3rd.

(*8) Shirley Pilmoor was re-elected in her absence but did not confirm her acceptance.

(*9) Originally stated as 59, believed one new life member erroneously included in yearly paying members total.

(*10) Feeling brave? Challenge our quiz champions by tackling the York City Quiz

(*11) Instead of a Player Of The Year award, a Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Jeff Miller

(*12) Held over until September 2018

(*13) Due to covid, the AGMs due in May 2021 and May 2022 were not held. In August 2022, Ray Goodearl was appointed Acting Chairman in August 2022, pending ratification at the next AGM upon Alastair Smith's appointment to the YCFC board. That was held on 8th December 2022 and officials were appointed until the end of the 2023/4 season (i.e. the reminder of the 2022/3 season and all of the 2023/4 season). In May 2023, Ray Goodearl stood down as Chairman with Chris Forth assuming the acting chairman role.

ALSO: In 2014, the YCS Darts competition was re-instated.

  1. 2014: Ray Goodearl beat Derek Feasby in the final.
  2. 2015: Dot Goodearl narrowly beat Ray Goodearl with Andy Naylor in 3rd place in a Super League format (although the darts were strictly Division 2 standard).
  3. 2016: Dot beat Ray to retain her title in April 2016 with Derek Feasby and Joel Stern being beaten semi finalists.
  4. 2017: Joel Stern put his name on the trophy, the first time we've had a trophy (the "Steve Beck Memorial Darts Trophy"), with Ray Goodearl as runner up.
  5. 2018: Ray Goodearl beat Andy Naylor.
  6. 2019: Andy Naylor beat Ray Goodearl.
  7. 2020 (March): 1st Andy Naylor, 2nd Ray Goodearl, 3rd James Daniels
  8. 2021 (November): 1st Andy Naylor, 2nd James Daniels, =3rd Cathy Daniels / Alastair Smith
